Prosperous Laser Technically none at the moment, but there are ways of getting an instance of Flarum up and running without SSH access. Do a quick search of this forum to find your answers. ?
Prosperous Awilum No, not yet. But there is The New & Improved Flarum Roadmap you can check out to see what we have in store for everyone in the future! ?
Awilum Prosperous but as I understand from the GitHub, there will be a lot of changes in database and extensions api in upcoming version. and I am worrying about if it will be possible to update current version of Flarum to next one ?
Prosperous Prosperous Awilum No, not yet. But there is The New & Improved Flarum Roadmap you can check out to see what we have in store for everyone in the future! ? nit Have a read of the quoted post I wrote a litte while ago. You can also check out the milestone page over at GitHub. ?
Prosperous Awilum It will always be possible to upgrade a stock standard Flarum instance to the new version. The issues are more to do with extensions in particular.
Prosperous dathbz Please do not tag administrators. Anyone can help. ? Unfortunately at the moment there is no download link available. This is likely to change in due course however the main way to install an instance of Flarum yourself is via Composer. Do a quick search of this forum as there are many tutorials and discussions available to guide you. You can also visit this page on the official Flarum website.
Eldenroot So April is coming closer and closer... can we expect beta 8 soon? Because the development is really slow, we wont get stable version sooner than in 2020 in that way ? I am not complaining, I am just asking because Flarum has a great future ? Thank you for your hard work and time!
Pollux Eldenroot I am not complaining, I am just asking If you just want to ask, find the answer here: https://github.com/flarum/core/milestones Otherwise, it indeed sounds more like complaining. Patience is a virtue, but finally it will pay off.
pentarou How stable and upgradable is flarum at this point? I want to use it in production and I am willing to accept the risk, but I must be sure that it is at least future-proof, so that everything can be migrated to the stable version as soon as it is there. Thank you in advance!
UaMV pentarou There are supposed to be major changes landing in beta8 which may break many existing third-party extensions. I think once beta8 hits, you can be more confident in taking a forum forward. That said, there are a good number of forums already running (including this one), so their should be some way forward for those wanting to migrate existing forums toward the stable release.
pentarou Thank you kindly for your reply, UaMV, Franz. I have noticed that there are many big names that already use or integrated Flarum into their website, so I thought it should be reasonably stable now. I won't be using third-party extensions until the next beta version.
Pollux abishekshivan As fast as possible but not faster than it's good for the software and its development. As development is a process which can at times be unpredictable, it doesn't seem a good idea to make more concise announcements than: It's ready when it's ready.
