Trying to fix a bug in the LaTeX extension: double preview

The LaTeX extension works well except whenever I edit a post, it doubles the content. So anytime I click on edit, the preview is duplicated again and again. I can best explain it by a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/uCTLSnZ.png

I have been trying to debug the extension source code that hasn't been updated for a while now, which is why I think it might have become incompatible with a newer version of the Flarum core. I haven't found a way to fix this while maintaining the system standard way of working.

Also, how do I do this, editing the source code that was loaded using composer doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I've never had to fix an extension that was loaded by composer so I don't know how to go at this the right way

Not sure about the problem itself but if you want to work on improvements/fixes, I suggest you clone the repository of the extension to a workbench folder and follow the composer developer guide to get your package installed from there instead of packagist https://discuss.flarum.org/d/1608-extension-development-using-composer-repositories-path
