Hey, I was wondering what is suggested to fix this. A forum is currently under attack from what seems like spambots of the sort. Is there any easy fix to stop this?
ModeratorBot Do you have Askimet set up and enabled?
jordanjay29 We've gone ahead and enabled it and some are still slipping the cracks.
CloudFlare may also help.
ModeratorBot Can you identify any common denominator? IP, header? URL in spamtext?
A (very) brute force method is to block whole countries in your webserver.
Sanguine Just wondering, in such cases (DDoS or spambots attacks) wouldn't reCaptchas help if you put one for users who sign up and another for users who log in?
just-do-it Absolutely! Do you know of any extensions that implement this for Flarum?
Sanguine I don't. But at least we know what we need to prevent it. Thank you.
Sanguine Been using this for a while now: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/3707-recaptcha
If you use Cloudflare, it has an "under attack" options that can be used.
