No CSS styling

I tried to do some custom CSS in the Appearance settings; specifically give the welcome banner a background image. I guess it couldn't locate the image and now the page loads as unstyled HTML. How would I go about fixing this?

If you can navigate through the unstyled html, go back to the spot you entered your custom css and remove it.

0E800 That would work but my admin account is logged out. the login pop-up window doesn't show up either. I was thinking of either manually editing the styling on my server or if there's another way to log in as admin I could revert it as you said.

In the future, I recommend having a separate admin tab open so you can undo any mistakes without having to manually edit files.

I have been in this situation before so I know you can manually edit using a ssh connection.

0E800 403 Forbidden. I cleared the cache after I made the changes and lost my cached admin account credentials.
I've been trying, unsuccessfully so far, to find the LESS/CSS file for the class 'WelcomeHero' that the header uses

Okay. The file you want to edit is

yourflarumsite/assets/forum-randomstring.css

Make of copy of it for backup.
I copy/pasted all of it into https://www.cleancss.com/css-beautify/ so that it wasn't all on one line.
(makes it easier to read)
I was able to verify the Custom CSS gets appended to the bottom, so most likely your edits will be found at the bottom of the file.

Instead of trying to fix your custom CSS I would first try removing your current edits to get your site back up and then review what syntax errors might have caused it to fail.

0E800 hmm ok no CSS file exists there. Maybe that's what is causing this problem.

EDIT:
I was able to fix the issue by copying the css for the official Flarum site and modifying the rev-manifest.
