Hold on a sec. Why're you apologizing? You released a plugin, I tested it and reported a problem, you did some basic diagnostics, I clarified the issue, you identified the problem and fixed it. There is nothing there requiring apologizing - more of a thank you instead!
Anyways - it does indeed fix the problem. Settings exist
Thanks for making this! TBH, I think it should be integrated into core or bundled into some kind of comprehensive user-management extension (when that exists).
