Thoughts about the "Likes" extension

As it stands right now, the "Likes" extension--I am assuming it is an extension--lists the user(s) who liked certain topic/comment and links to that uses(s) profile page. What is the use of it, specially when it gets to the point of saying "others?" I see none.

Instead, having the like icon (hand), followed by a number of likes[0] would be more useful. Perhaps, in the future, those posts who cross a certain threshold on their amount of likes will be marked different, given a "badge" or something of the like.

I like it as is and want to know who read it and likes it..
That said, The like extension right now is very limited and deserves to have the ability to be configured in any possible fashion (as stated above).

It should also have a accessible location for information about who likes what and in what ways so that other extensions can utilize its information for their own purpose (creating the first possibility of a dependency)

Kulga right now you know who liked it, but not who read it. I can click like without reading (or liking it, but that's another story). I think it is worthless right now, it doesn't have relevancy, but that's my own thought.

Thanks for the demo, I saw it was an extension indeed. I noticed that some of the the "group" (admin, moderator, etc.) icons (the create a label on avatars, seem to be chopped off at the bottom:

Note: They look fine (albeit a tad too close) under Chrome, so I am guessing @Toby uses Chrome mainly.
More note: Parsing is still broken if we type **Note:**.

I think being able to read who has liked a post is handy, especially when there is plenty of room to show it. That said, the Likes extension will become a lot more powerful in the future so I'd be happy to let this be configurable.

I did not want to create a separate thread for my thoughts about Likes extension, instead will just post that thought here.

Is there a reason why OP has the option to Like his own post? Maybe have an option to disable that?
It seems a given that the original poster would like their own post; maybe not.

0E800 i see this as a NO big deal. The OP also has an option to just ignore it, correct?

As long as there is no conflict with other features or with the UI or functionality, then it can stay as is.
