Lower the bar for wiki contributions with Wikihub

An intriguing little project for static page wikis was recently released. It's called Wikihub:

It significantly lowers the bar for community contributions, especially when it comes to tiny drive-by edits like fixing typos. As opposed to catapulting you over to GitHub like the standard "Improve this page" does, Wikihub lets you edit content in-place, and creates a pull request for you when you publish your changes. You don't even have to log in; you can edit anonymously and a sock puppet user will make a pull request on your behalf.

I hope you guys will consider implementing this on flarum.org/docs/. I'm itching to use it on my own docs revamp but it's not ready yet.

I really don't see the usage. At all. Nothing wrong with git.

I'm sure many contributions would go unmade with the current system because people don't know how to use git/GitHub, or just can't be bothered navigating through that whole process to fix a typo.

Definitely will consider implementing this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Quickly tested out their example wikis (the anonymous one). Sadly I got an error saying Unauthorized: Requires authentication.

I like the idea of simple anonymous editing but it also has the potential to generate a lot of spam pull requests if not validated properly.

Personally I don't see any issues with the current setup. Easy to edit Markdown and the normal Pull Request flow applies.

I think he had to stop supporting the Anonymous demo, because GitHub didn't like that he was sharing an OAuth token (though it was for a sock puppet user).

erlend_sh Which I'm quite happy about, to be honest. I wouidn't like the idea of people making anonymous improvement suggestions, with no way to get back to them. It's fair to ask them to have an account.
