Easiest way to email admin when new user registers

What is the easiest way to set flarum up so that when a new user successfully registers (validating their account), an email is sent to an administrator to review / approve the user (and then the admin can change the user's group membership)?

After enabling it on the extensions page, all accesses to the forum result in a red "Something went wrong while trying to load the full version of this site." banner at the top of every page, and there's a lot of content missing on the page (e.g. menus at the top). Any ideas on how to diagnose / get working?

Also, is debug mode enabled? (in config.php, set debug to true)

For some reason php flarum info doesn't do anything for me (just spits out the flarum help-text) -- this does concern me a bit, because it means I can't use flarum from the command-line, but so far I've not needed it.

Nonetheless, I seem to have been able to get rid of the problem by closing the browser, clearing cookies/cache, and logging back in with a "fresh" browser session.

edgimar Strange. In the SSH console, can you run php flarum cache:clear or does that also return the help text?

Yes, it also returns the help text -- it might be something strange with how my shared-hosting provider has php configured.

Ah! Figured it out, the hosting provider has two different php binaries, php, and php-cli. I needed to use the latter, and now it works.

So far the extension works well -- I have only noticed one strange thing, which is that non-admin users have the "When someone registers" notification option available to them on their profile page, even when it's not enabled for ordinary users on the admin/settings/permissions page. If the user enables this profile option, it doesn't actually do anything (in terms of notifying the user when a new user registers), but it may be confusing to the user to have the option when it isn't intended for non-admin users.
