BlackSheep I just think that going here, posting "I want that" and leaving without much explanation or why is this needed very rude and un-productive.
I agree ... especially when the topic is merely replicating something that's been discussed before. 😛
Such topics generally don't give our developers much information beyond the fact that one person wants a feature. (Or maybe a few people, assuming it attracts some likes.) That's very little to give the devs in exchange for pulling their attention away from the all-important job of coding. If you want their attention, you could at least say:
- Why you want the feature.
- Why you think the feature would be useful to other users.
- How you envision the feature working in Flarum.
- How the feature would interact with Flarum's other features.
And so on ... there's actually quite a lot more you could say about the subject. Put enough effort into it, and you just might grab someone's attention. (In other words, MAKE YOURSELF HEARD.)
Thanks for the UserVoice suggestion. As it turns out, @Toby already has some plans for ways to promote more constructive posting. They're not exactly UserVoice, but they may help out a bit. He just needs to find the time to get them all down in code. (Yes, that was a hint. 😉 )
Since this thread is a duplicate, and we've gone a bit off-topic, I'll go ahead and lock it down.
