Number of posts, notifications etc

Is it possible to get a number of posts, notifications for user, as well as username and avatar, and to display that?

I hope these things become imbedded in the Forum instead of another extensions.
I dont know if it will be, but I believe that the Flarum Community will make some major frontend changes in the future and I hope a lot of things goes from extensions to something that you get with Flarum out of the box.

I mean talkyard is open source and free & they have number of posts, replies, activity and so on, and they even have threaded style forum, so when someone writes something, and other people reply, you can easily find the replies very easy. I dont know if Flarum will go over to something like threaded and make everything easier or it will continue with the Flat design.

Via the API or inside an extension ?

Nearly everything you see inside Flarum is loaded through the API so you just have to find out what endpoint you should hit. To get the notifications of a user, you might have to set the actor attribute to whatever user ID you want notifications for when hitting the API with a master token.

I was thinking via api, as i am using a freeflarum, so i do not have acess to any file.
What i want to achieve is to somehow call a api in custom header, as it will be a part of style i am planning to make.

Razor I think it would be simpler to make an extension for this, then add custom styling through there. I am not sure how you would add custom .html to an extension, @clarkwinkelmann do you know of any ways?

Razor if you're using code in a custom header/footer, you don't even need to do any API request, you can directly pull data from the Flarum data store on the page. The number of notifications for example is already there. Something like app.store.all('notifications') will pull all the notifications and you can filter them how you want. app.session.user will return the model of the currently logged in user.

Yep it would, but as i said, i do not have flarum installed on vps or localhost, so i am using a freeflarum, which means i do not have acess to ssh etc.

When i use code bellow in custom header

i get a ReferenceError: app is not defined error.
In console it's working normally. So am i supposed to add some src to script (if yes than what?), or i made another mistake?

The app variable is created at the end of the page. You may have you listen to the DOMContentLoaded event, or if this does not works, wait a little bit with setTimeout, so the JS at the bottom is executed, and app is available to use.

It works in the console because there, you execute the script when the page is fully loaded.
