Thanks to a lot of help from this Forum I am mostly up and running on https://www.seekadventure.net

Its a Flarum for helping each other plan outdoor adventures and to share your adventures with others! I still have a little css to play with such as create a logo but check it out if you like camping, backpacking etc!

You can see a couple fun pictures from my last short trip in my first "real" post on the forum here:

I love your forum and have been visiting it on daily basis since I discovered it like a week ago. I love your logo, your content, and above all, your consistency with posting. Can't wait to join your community once I'm done setting up my own (so i could get you on mine in return haha).
Your forum is blazing fast...was wondering what host and plan you use.

lorem I can not tell you how happy that makes me! I just got back from another backpacking trip, hiking the Trans Catalina trail...well most of it...cut it short to drink beer on the beach...anywho I should have another good trip report soon!

I use aws for hosting, I can't check the exact specs right now. But will later this weekend for you!

Thanks again and can't wait to see you around Seek Adventure!

MikeJones Keep 'em trip reports coming with lots of beautiful pics! ?
Thank you and no worries, I have one week to settle for a host anyway.
      You're welcome. ? ? ?

lorem No worries, AWS can be a little confusing and I am learning a lot. But it has been an awesome quick host so far! Also really easy to make backups!

Also just posted my latest trip report on Seek Adventure ;-)

Pretty darn confusing actually. Although I managed to hook up aws buckets with my flarum (through fileupload extension) because i really needed to seamlessly host pictures off site, I still haven't been able to muster up the courage to give aws compute a try. ?

Beautiful and inspiring adventure trip as always! Loved all the pics for their vivid blues and everything, the prickly pear ones too (I've eaten prickly pear fruit haha).
Just a question, why do you host your pictures on smugmug?

lorem So this may or may not help but I had a bit of trouble getting up and running on AWS at first, but I received a ton of help in this thread here.

I use Smugmug for all my personal photography, I really like their organization which includes folders, and its unlimited space.

I love Google photos too, but the space you pay for is not unlimited and you can create albums but can not organize them into folders which I do not like.

As for AWS buckets.... I have had issues trying to get it to work with my flarum lol, apparently nginx isn't as simple to raise the max upload file size...

I will eventually get aws bucket to work but holding off for now until I have more users. I don't want to pay for picture hosting unless my flarum takes off.

MikeJones Thank you for the link, looks like a great help.

            Great.

What was the error you faced? It did act up for me for a bit but then i figured out I was configuring region incorrectly lol.

I'm using their free plan for the time being.

lorem I know there is a free version but I don't want to start something that then becomes something I have to pay for in the future.

I also do not think I have enough users right now for it to be useful

MikeJones I seen that now your community link is removed from Flarum.org Front page, and replaced with UPC Community 😟

1Dot seek adventure renamed itself to ten digit grid and the showcases on the frontpage are now randomly rotating. Ten digit grid is still there.

1Dot I am honored that you were so worried about my flarum 😀

Yea just a bit of a rebrand to have all my social media aligned with my flarum. I still own the Seek Adventure domain so all links still work and I plan on keeping that forever.

You can read about the rebrand here: https://www.tendigitgrid.com/d/204-ten-digit-grid-rebrand

                Nice to meet a fan!
