I can't Install Flarum

Hi,

I have tried to install Flarum on my localhost several times but I can't install it. First I want to install Flarum on the localhost and migrate from localhost to shared hosting.

I'm using MacOS. I have tried following ways:

MacOs server (localhost)
Xampp and AMPPS apps (localhost) (on Youtube: TZCoder's way)
Pockethold

All of them are not working on my shared hosting. How did you install it on shared hosting?

At this point, the answer is really to get a different host. There's not really a way around having a bad host.

Look for shared hosting with SSH access, so you can use Composer and don't have to resort to workarounds like pockethold.

Last, Install Flarum on VPS and then, migrate from VPS to shared hosting... Is it good idea?

kocakserdar7 No. If you have a working VPS that fulfills the requirements, that's much more ideal for Flarum than shared hosting.

@kocakserdar7 For what it's worth, if you get a semi decent shared hosting provider that gives you SSH access, Flarum works flawlessly. Namecheap and A2 hosting are two that even advertise that you can install Flarum. Namecheap even has a tutorial (which has you do probably very important things like go into the cPanel PHP settings and add some things). I am using Namecheap and have been for a few months with zero problems. Site is always up and fast. But, who knows. My tune might change down the road. ?

Are you still using it? How big is your community? and which plan are/were you using?

I use Siteground.com and didn't have a problem getting flarum up and running. You get ssh access and such.
