Ad inventory slots for Adsense, DFP, and AdX really need to be built in.

Someone just told me about FLARUM. Looks pretty impressive so far!

I run an ad network for forums and we monetize forums that use vb, xenforo, ipb etc. One thing that is key to any forum's growth and stability is revenue generation. Advertising. I have done some searches on here and a couple of posters have mentioned the need for people who use FLARUM to be able to monetize with Adsense. This, it seems, is being pushed onto FLARUM extensions developers.

I know you guys probably have your hands incredibly full with other aspects of the project at present, but I would like to echo the request. Most of the other forum software out there has ad templates or hooks so publishers can easily drop in ads. This is something FLARUM should consider as well IMO.

Also, since we monetize our partners with Google AdX mostly, it would be nice to see ad slots/hooks/or templates that can handle AdX tags and DFP Google Publisher tags.

If this capability was built into the base code I am sure you would make a lot of forum publishers happy.

FORUMCAST even though I wouldn't find it too hard to believe the proposed flexibility will be added to the core somewhere in the future. I'd like you to consider the current philosophy of extensions. Some of the most crucial elements of what makes Flarum special, like its tags and real-time notification (pusher) system are both not even part of the core, they are extensions.

@Toby might need to correct me, but if I have understood his mission correctly, the core of flarum must remain lean and mean, allowing anyone to hook into anything. Allowing this much flexibility provides sufficient opportunity to create an extension by anyone. The proposed template overrules or even native support for ad networks within Flarum aren't that much of an issue to implement using the current state of Flarum, it "only" has to be done.

Also any extension/code that is a responsibility of the core dev will only slow down development of the actual core. So I seriously hope they will offload that responsibility to more and more developers.
