Composer downgrading

i've edited the composer.json file and added a string after "require"

but when i lunch the comand on prompt "composer update"
i read some downgrade, it's normal?
The editing composer.json it's a right step?
i following a video tutorial

None of this is supported behavior, so you'll have to ask the video creator what's going on. I recommend you revert your composer to what it was before.

We have a guide for editing your composer.json in the case of testing extensions. Outside of that, we don't support other modifications, and suggest you leave the composer.json file untouched unless you know what you're doing.

So what's do you advice me to do? Delete compleately the Flarum folder on htdocs, and repeat all steps?

i've some trouble for this reason i've seeking a video tutorials.

Installed Composer
Done a folder htdocs/flarum
Run Prompt in the folder and lanch the command "composer create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=beta"
then "composer update"
and after?

if i try to go on localhost/flarum and complete the setting required seems that not found a Database..

What tutorial is that ?

Most likely you installed beta7 with the official command, but then added a manual requirement for zendframework/zend-stratigility downgrading it to version 1.2.

This was probably intended as a fix for beta6, because beta7 now requires stragility 1.3 (as can be seen at https://github.com/flarum/core/blob/v0.1.0-beta.7/composer.json#L56)

So adding this line made your setup incompatible with beta7 and got you downgraded you to beta6, hence the "downgrade".

Unless that tutorial is aiming for something special, no editing of composer.json should be required as pointed out by jordanjay29

the tutorial give this code for create the database, but it's a right way to do? I dont found anything in the installation page for create Database.
