Installed Flarum, blank screen only showing the navbar.

CentOS 6.
Flarum beta 4.
PHP 7.

I tried installing Flarum on my dedicated server, after configuring every permission, I got to the setup screen, so I filled all the values correctly and, when the installation was finished, the only thing I got when I connected was only a bar showing "Forum Name" (in this case: "MrPowerGamerBR Forum") and a text showing "Loading...", that would disappear after a short while, after the loading disappears, it would just stay on that page, doing nothing.

If I cleared the cookies/whatever, I could see the page showing some information ("Do not use in production!", etc), but when I logged in my account again it would go back to the same problem.

Now, I'm stuck on that, I really wanted to use Flarum for testing, but I can't even get it to work 🙁

I've been having trouble with using PHP7 - however it works fine with php5.6 (for me)

Is the current flarum release (#4) confirmed to be working with php7?

luceos That is what I first done when I was trying to debug the problem, however the value was already true when I installed.

If I open another browser without a user logged in, it appears fine, however, if I login using my account, then it stops working... again.

The only thing I didn't configure is the stmp server, but I don't think that is related to this issue.

luceos I downgraded to PHP 5.6.16 and installed every module Flarum needs, but now I'm stuck... again.

I decided to wipe my Flarum installation so I could start again, however, after using composer, I got this error when opening the forum in the browser:

"503 Service Unavailable

This forum is down for maintenance."

I also seen if the MySQL is on the required version, and it is on version 5.7.

EDIT: I think I should create a new post for this problem.

Kulga I don't know if it 100% working with PHP 7, however I really don't want to downgrade to PHP 5 just to use Flarum :/

That's fine - but it's a unknown. If it starts working with php5, it's (a incompatibility with) php7 causing it. If it doesn't, that means something else is the problem.
My experience with using php7 though gave me a bunch of for each errors so I returned to 5.6.

Kulga Yeah, if PHP 7 didn't have so much advantages than PHP 5, then I would downgrade, but PHP 7 is running smoothly for me, so... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It seems PHP 7 support is marked for the beta5 milestone.

MrPowerGamerBR PHP 7 is very new so adopting it so early is bound to run into these issues. It may be some time before it's working properly. Dev's are aware of it and it should get fixed once a fix is identified.

I don't know whether your problem has been solved.

I has just encountered a similar problem.
I notice the source of the page has a line '<link rel="stylesheet" href="/assets/forum-ebd06681.css">'.
And I did not find the css in the assets. So I make the /assets directory writable. (sudo chmod -R 777 assets)
Then the problem was solved.
My environment is Ubuntu16.04 + php7.0.
P.S. Don't forget to make the /storage directory writable.
