luceos I would really love to implement Flarum on my production website. I would love it. Seriously you do have a thing going on here, the only real competition is Discourse, but it is much more complicated to install and to run. And it doesn't look as good.
"Our hopes are still on Flarum, some of our core team might eventually even be working on this project full time at some point." (insert a quote not working).
=> I really hope you can find a business model for this. Maybe sell a one time license like the guy at sendy.co does, or sell hosting services like Discourse?
Also I really believe there is a future for companies that sell software-that-we-can-host-on-our-own-server. I call these HOYOS companies (Host On Your Own Server), as opposed to Saas companies.
The last five years have only been about Saas companies, some of them charging a lot of money, but they can be disrupted by HOYOS companies which are a lot cheaper. Think Sendy.co Vs Mailchimp (one of them is 100 times cheaper), or Mautic.org Vs all the other marketing automation tools.
Wordpress being probably the biggest HOYOS.
The business models around HOYOS companies are a little trickier to find, but they are reliable and usually surrounded by an active and committed community.
