Using Flarum's Formatter extender and the MediaEmbed instructions you should be able to achieve it.

You can see how an extension can use the Formatter extender in extensions like comic sans https://github.com/clarkwinkelmann/flarum-ext-comicsans/blob/master/extend.php I don't know of any example of Flarum extension that extends MediaEmbed but it's very similar to extending bbcode.

Is there any solution to embed files hosted/shared with Dropbox?

[deleted] if Dropbox has an iframe-based solution to embed their files, then it could be added to either TextFormatter, which would make it available in this extension, or you could register the template yourself locally or from a new extension using TextFormatter's extension API.

If Dropbox doesn't offer any embed solution themselves, then you would have to also develop a script to render an embed page for the kind of Dropbox documents you want to support.

Hi, I noticed that there is an update for fof / formatting 2.0. I can't install it, it tells me I need to have flarum core beta 14 as a requirement.
It's right? Can the installation be forced?

Gatsu That version is for Flarum beta 14. Flarum beta 14 has not come out yet. Forcing its install would break your forum (at least the admin side).

I've been tagging some versions for beta 14 so that when it comes out there are extensions that are already updated

EDIT: If you need to install fof/formatting, run composer require "fof/formatting:*" - I think this should install the latest compatible version (i.e. not the beta 14 version)
