Upgraded Ubuntu Version on my Cloud server and broke my site....

No panic here, I am testing on a backup instance of my website so production is fine 😀

After making a copy of my aws instance I decided to try upgrading to the latest version of ubuntu before trying to test beta 8.

After upgrading, I could visit my website and get to the front page fine, but when I clicked on a discussion to open it up I got this error:

I did not... do I need to run that in a specific directory?

Nevermind jordanjay29 figured out I have to run in my flarum folder....testing now to see if this worked.

After testing I just get a "Refused to connect" lol I think I may have a hunch. I am going to delete this instance copy another and re-do the upgrade and try again.

@jordanjay29 my second try didn't work either. Once the cache is cleared it doesn't load any web page and can't connect....

Something is getting changed when I update to the next Ubuntu version.... maybe the php isn't pointing to the new 7.1 after the os update?

MikeJones php -V will check which version is running at the moment.

MikeJones I'm guessing since it's your staging, you aren't actually accessing it from www.seekadventure.net. If this is the case, you should update your config.php url field to the url that you are accessing the staging server from.

BTW if you want, Jordan and I are both on Discord and we can help you in real time.

Kyrne I actually quickly point my elastic ip from aws to the dev instance so it should be the same config file I would think?

MikeJones yeah it would be the same then. What does your directory structure look like? Also post a copy of your .htaccess (or nginx config) and your index.php. Thanks!

Connection refused. The first thing to identify is WHAT is blocking the request. You can do so by going to the network tab of your browser, clicking the request and inspecting the response headers. Do post them here.

I think the upgrade def overwrote my nginx.cong:

I am about to pull my other AWS the live instance nginx.conf and past it into the new dev environment and give that a try.

Any idea how to easily paste between the two command lines? It's not easy copying from nano or vi etc.

luceos my dev site isnt always live, I repoint an aws elastic beanstalk ip real quick when I want to test it.

Is there a way to set up my dev aws instance so I can just visit the ip address instead of the domain name?
