Sorry to unearth this old thread. Although still in beta, can Flarum be installed inside a Laravel 5.3 application yet? 18 months on and I'm finally back working on this personal project.

I'm in the same pickle – build forum software from scratch or wait for Flarum?

Tim What exactly are you trying to accomplish. I'm rather confused by your post.

Tim yup can't closely integrate flarum with a Laravel app yet. But you can use your own oauth server inside flarum to authenticate users between the two.

I think idea is to use Flarum as a package and integrate it into existing application based on Laravel

scotty_bowler still works the same way. The best integration currently is to use Flagrow Passport to let your Laravel users connect to the forum.

SantiBarbat Flarum is (currently) not a Laravel package. Flarum is only built using some of Laravel components.

The features described by @Franz above are from 2015 and have not been implemented yet. See my (also old) comment above for options clarkwinkelmann

At this time all you can do is implement oauth or some kind of SSO between the two apps.

Hey! Still don't understand why Flarum is not in top of Laravel. I'm planning to integrate it with my Laravel app and it's a bit of a hassle and seems a lot of features made from scratch on Flarum were already on Laravel.

Since I want a blog/forum feature on my website and I don't want to rebuild the wheel, I'm planning to require the flarum core make a few custom integrations with my Laravel app and upload that so anyone can use it, a bridge between Laravel and Flarum. Should we open a new thread to enumerate and discuss things to be done?
