Hello v17 dev thanks for this seo extension it's too good,
A quick feedback
This extension mentions that it will automatically add accepted answer schema in head tag when fof best answer is selected in the post but it's not doing so I checked the source it's not added, also I cleared cache even tried on a fresh flarum install but still didn't work. So is this a bug or it can be fixed by configuring something??
Header_Footer This is a known issue, already reported at GitHub. It's very small change will be fixed in the next update (expecting)
Hari ok Thanks for letting me know!
The tags if it was possible to also make them have keywords for each title
Hello why using upload picture to Imgur its show default picture not the picture in the discussion
Hi @JasperVriends, I think the fix to set the target only if it's not set already (v17development/flarum-seo1f44392
) is not enough to fix the issue of the target attribute being overridden.
I'm seeing the target attribute being set as an empty string, and I suppose it happens here: https://github.com/v17development/flarum-seo/blob/cbbe884d2c1e0c79e0b708a7a4d924c2fc08545f/src/ConfigureLinks.php#L19
What do you think?
@JasperVriends did you have a chance to take a look at the above message? Does it make sense? Thank you!
Hello everyone,
At first, thank you all for your patience. We're sorry to let you guys all wait for so long. We know you like our products and some of you depend on them. It is no fun to have the feeling that an extension is no longer maintained. However, this is not the case. We want to tell you that this and all our other extensions are still maintained and fully supported.
Due to a personal situation at one of our two-headed team there simply was something else on our minds, which meant that we temporarily had to "pause" our updates for this extensions. Together with amazing contributors we tried our best to keep the extensions active, but this has his limits as well.
Before we continue, we like to thank all fans, users and contributors again. You guys are amazing.
As of development. The moment you've all been waiting for is finally there. We will now officially resume development on the Flarum Extensions. Our Premium Extension will of course take priority, but don't worry, the Flarum SEO, Flarum Blogs and Flarum User Badges extension will get updates as well.
We expect to release bug-fixes for our extensions this week.
Recently there were a few questions on why I was answering a lot of things. Even although Jasper is the main developer of the Flarum Products we offer, the owner of the extensions is the company V17 Development, which we run together.
Let's party together and let us know how we can help you! And hey, did you see the user initiative for Flarum Blogs yet? It is absolutely amazing that there is such engagement with the Blogs extension. We love it. Together with you, the Flarum Blogs Discord Server and Sponsors we'd like to make Flarum Blogs even greater!
Best regards,
Jasper & Pascal
in the search, the site is displayed like this "Something went wrong while trying to load the full version of this site. Try refreshing the page with deleting the browser cache (CTRL + F5)"
Is it compatible with 1.2?
Seems to have a bug that (I presume) if you have fof/best answer installed it will add"@type":"QAPage"
and "@type":"Question"
irregardless of the tags setting i.e I have a specific tag for Best Answers but it's applying to all tags/posts.
This results in a fair amount of errors and growing on Google's search console as it's expecting acceptedAnswer or suggestedAnswer which is obviously not coming thus the error remains.
I've validated it comes from the SEO extension by simply turning it off and error vanishes. I did take note of the "don't post bugs here but on GitHub" but the issue has been reported already so just a heads up for others that may use the pairing.
i have a question for the "Description" Tag:
Why does it only have the default description from the home page?
Each post / question should not have the description from the home page. Or should not be everywhere the same description.
Maybe vervenden the first text lines for this?
stackoverflow.com waives the meta tag description
basti4k Why does it only have the default description from the home page?
flarum things it is coming from the core, not from the SEO extension.
view-source:https://discuss.flarum.org/d/18316-flarum-seo/490
basti4k Each post / question should not have the description from the home page. Or should not be everywhere the same description.
flarum divides every 10 to 20 posts into pages near?1
, near?2
and it should carry either the page's first post as description (this is not ideal because we may end up having pages with duplicate titles and descriptions for many sub-pages which is not good SEO) or the first post of the page as a page description but that's not happening, the team need to focus these small things but due to various tasks priority for SEO is so so at this moment.
now you are a true flarumate .. keep sharing your feedback, the team is promised to improve SEO in future builds.
especially flarum team and askvortsov is so friendly and listens to all our SEO wishes

️ Better SEO.
as far I know SEO extension author is not active on flarum so I am not expecting any new features or improvements from the author in the near future.
what can we do now, so that flarum continues to have an SEO extension?
basti4k this extension is not an official one so flarum has no interference in this, since the extension and flarum both are open sources we are free to fork and develop our own version or one can hire developers to improve the current extensions.
if you would like to hire, firstly it would be nice to contact the author or v17 development group (it is an organization or something). @v17development @JasperVriends is also in flarum discord it is okay to ping him to check whether he is willing to do commissioned work or not at this moment.
on the other hand, Blomastra is working on an SEO extension it does not exactly fill our requirement but once check the first post of this discussion https://discuss.flarum.org/d/27092-blomstra-meta-an-open-graph-and-schemaorg-extension-with-cards/17
https://blomstra.net/development
list all features that you need before approaching devs
One important thing is flarum team is working hard towards the core improvements/enhancements, at the same time they do give importance to SEO consider reporting at github https://github.com/flarum/core/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen
edit: @basti4k i forgot to mention this, To solve this issue temporarily we restricted indexing all sub URLs on google using this extension https://github.com/SychO9/flarum-discussion-canonical-url
if we do not index sub-pages so there will be no duplication of description to sub pages or same page title (same page title is recently fixed in v1.2 for all sub posts)
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I am currently still looking for a good and stable forum solution (I like Flarum ️ ).
Only I'm afraid that I'm too dependent on the many extensions and that there is then no support or further development.
Therefore, I actually want a forum, which has certain basic requirements. This includes for example "SEO", if my forum is not found on the Internet, so I get no new users.
Therefore, these many questions, to the community of Flarum.
basti4k The extension works and will work for months until Flarum 2.0 probably comes out, so until then there's not much point in worrying, Jasper is currently not that active around here but I don't think we have to assume anything related to his commitment especially in the long term. On the other hand, what you say is a feature request for this extension, so you could post the issue on the GitHub repository to follow it up or if you want it right away you could commission some developer a small PR for this.
