I've been having a hard time understanding what the topic is about (probably just one of those "senior moments" people keep mentioning) but after reading the first response by Ditchmonkey a few times, I think I've finally caught on. Basically, you're proposing a solution to a problem that we're facing with our current esoTalk forums.
In our case, we've got a bunch of locations that we want to offer as event venue candidates, and we want to create a thread for each one. In the OP of each thread we need to present specific information (name, physical address, Google Map link, cost, hours, etc.) for each location, and this information needs to be formatted for easy reference. As it is, we're just using spaces and such to spread things out, and of course people invariably screw up the formatting when they try to enter data.
So yes, I agree, this would be a great sort of plugin to have. From a programming standpoint, it shouldn't be too different from the code that allows users to start a thread with a poll. It would have to be a bit more complex (for example, it would be nice to be able to define radio buttons and checkboxes as responses for certain items), but on the other hand it would not need the code used to tally the poll results.
