It's like when you build a house, it's nice to think about the table for your living room or the colour of the walls, but you'll have to think about building the actual floors before that, and more importantly the foundation of the house.
Getting to stable for Flarum is exactly this, making sure that the architecture is future-proof. It's easier to make changes when you "just" started to build something, than when it's finished.
This fact added to the slow development in the recent months unfortunately means no new features 🙂
