A Flarum extension. Allow users to log in with GitLab.

Installation

Use Bazaar or install manually with composer:

composer require fof/auth-gitlab

Updating

composer update fof/auth-gitlab
php flarum cache:clear

Setup via GitLab

Go to https://gitlab.com/oauth/applications.
Log in if prompted.
Set the name of the application to whatever you want it to be (it doesn't really matter).
Enter your Redirect Uri which should be something like this: https://myforum.com/auth/gitlab (SSL is required).
The only scope necessary is read_user so just tick that box.
Copy your Application Id and Secret over to the extension's settings via your Flarum forum Admin CP & click "Save Settings".
(Optional) You can also add an optional base URL for self-hosted instances if needed.

Hello, I'd like to request for the plugin to work with gitlab community edition (self-hosted gitlab), which is basically just same as the public gitlab but allow the authentication to be done on a custom hosted gitlab link. Thanks!

My composer showed me an Incompatible with fof/extend 3.0, can you please review this extension? THANKS


  Problem 1
    - Installation request for fof/auth-gitlab ^0.1.0 -> satisfiable by fof/auth-gitlab[0.1.0].
    - fof/auth-gitlab 0.1.0 requires fof/extend ^0.1.0 -> satisfiable by fof/extend[0.1.0] but these conflict with your requirements or minimum-stability.

0.2.0 - The Lazy in Bed Update 🛌

First and foremost, I want to thank those of you who needed this extension and went ahead and installed it. It was one of the very first extensions that I brought over to the FriendsOfFlarum namespace. Even though it didn’t really gain any traction with the number of installs being legit doughnuts for the first several months, I was still glad to see that some of you found usefulness in this extension as an OAuth provider.

With that being said, I would like to announce that as of Beta 14, FriendsOfFlarum Oauth will be the successor to this extension. I’ll also make sure to get self-hosted GitLab instances support in there as well for those of you who need that option 🙂

Please also note that I have bumped the minimal version of Flarum core required to Beta 12 to encourage you all to update your Flarum instances so you can enjoy the goodies to come 😁

Now without further ado, here is what’s in this release!

X.X.X - The Goodbye Update

Ladies and gentlemen, it's that time, unfortunately 💔

What started as an extension that received no installs for many months since it's creation, I am sad yet happy to see a successor that will provide even more options for growth 🙂

As I stated in my previous post, this was the last update that this extension received and replaced by FriendsOfFlarum OAuth as planned. I have abandoned FriendsOfFlarum Auth GitLab on Packagist, left a replacement package, and also archived it on GitHub.

Thank you to those that supported this extension and carried the 96 installs it received since its inception.
