That's kind of why I asked. There's a plethora of messaging apps that could make use of this if FoF were interested in developing that feature. WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, (Facebook) Messenger, etc.

chawki Yes please Whatsapp, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger please. These are are the biggest messaging platforms on mobile devices for sharing links with friends and family etc. And thanks so much that this extension uses the short link myflarum.com/d/x instead of full links as sometimes we rename and change the titles and don't want our socially shared links to broken. Also if the use of the first image in the discussion as the official og:image for the discussion can be fixed in the SEO extension, then combined with this extension, it would make Flarum on par with the social sharing experience of a wordpress blog post.

FYI Flarum links don't break if you change the title. The "slug" part of the url is only there for SEO and isn't used by Flarum. Only the number at the beginning is relevant. If you rename the discussion, the canonical link changes but any previous link still goes to the same discussion.

Is there functionality somewhere to modify the meta properties for Twitter cards and Open Graph?

I'm looking to choose a higher res image than the favicon by default, and to use text from the title and first post as a descrition.

troymccann No, there's no way to do that without modifying the files. MIght be added in a future update that would also allow the addition of custom social media share links.

Littlegolden That is either an issue with QQ or the share URL that was PR'd. I don't use the platform so I have no idea, sorry 😕. If you could get a share URL and see if it matches the one in the code, that'd be great.

aleveltech If users want to share the URL they would be able to copy and paste from the browser URL bar. I'm confused as to what problem your trying to solve.
