Today Ive created a tutorial on how to install Flarum Software. Its been a while since Ive last uploaded a tutorial so please forgive my nervousness. However, here to help, check out the video tutorial with a simple walk-through on how to get started as well as the requirements. Like, share or and subscribe, I will do my best to keep this going for the Flarum community as I go.

    Korimoo Thanks, I did it because there were no tutorials on how to do this, only how to install it locally. So I figure why not make a tutorial on doing it both ways which MOST will want to know.

      Good effort! There's just a couple things I noticed.

      Flarum is currently having some issues with PHP 7.0, which should hopefully be solved by Beta 5, but for the moment it's not great advice to tell people to get XAMPP if the default is PHP 7.0.

      Also (and totally preferential), your pronunciation's off. It's Flare-umm (or as I hear Toby say it, Flare-ooom). ?

        lol thanks jordanjay29 It didnt come to mind at until someone in another thread somewhere stated he had problems with PHP 7. If I just wouldve remembered to just not mentioned Xampp, however, they should still be able to edit the PHP.ini file. BUT, as you said, as well as I, I shouldve remembered it lol. Ma bahhd ? Also, Im mixed black and asian, as an american, my english is far too correct when it comes to text words. My pronunciations are on point as I hear alot. However depending on the persons accent.....well lol you get the picture there, but, I will remember to use the way @Toby Won says it. "Flare-oommmmmmm ?

          Yea a few folks ran into that same issue with uploading Avatars. I on the other hand, havent had any issues yet myself, so Im just wondering and tinkering to find answers if IT IS on our end.

            Korimoo Please start a new discussion if you have problems with Flarum, posting in someone else's thread (especially one not related) is hijacking and it's against our community guidelines.

                      Also, unless it's an official statement from the Flarum team/staff. It most likely won't get stickied. I'm sure the Flarum team will release an installation video once Flarum is out of Beta.

                        I'll meet you halfway. I don't want to cut you off from the great feedback you've been getting, but this should discourage folks from thinking it's a support topic.

                        Can I please get this locked and moved somewhere that others can use this? Thanks in advance.

                          Mtechnik all your requests for locking and moving (and the responses from mods) are probably more off topic than any other reply you're expecting. Rest assured that the mods our doing their jobs ?

                          Re: Locking: no, we in fact only lock threads that are against our community guidelines or seem to go offtopic too far. We will never lock threads to protect it from getting replies, because those are part of a community.

                          Re: moving, ok. We'll move it to tutorials, it's the best location for this "resource" anyway.

                          Re: others can use this anyway, no matter what the tag is or whether it's locked or not.

                            I will try to install flarum on my shared host with this tutorial, since the package I use there doesn't have SSH. But just to be sure, the php version is 5.5.33. Will that be enough for flarum to work?

                            I am getting file permission error .

                            The directory is not writable.
                            Please chmod this directory and its contents to 0775.

                            But I have already​ changed the permission, still showing same error
