This works like a charm now. I use this SQL for finding all lonely posts:
SELECT * FROM flarum_posts WHERE discussion_id NOT IN (SELECT id FROM flarum_discussions)

@datitisev What about adding a condition to the convertLike() method ? Would it cause any unwanted side-effect to make is like this : if ($post->number = 1 && isset($post->discussion)) ?

Aleram sorry for the delay. I've just been able to replicate the same issue as you on another forum of mine, and have fixed it with the below

[deleted] it's a setting you can enable on the gamification settings page. Enable "Show total votes of original post on discussions list" You will have to mess around with your custom css to make it align to the left.

As for sorting by upvotes, try the "hot" sort

ColaIan [deleted] Kyrne Actually, that's something I did for Songoda commissioned - the current behavior of Gamification discussion votes was weird and they didn't equal the first post's vote count, so I engineered something for them.

As I see more people want it, I'll think about either adding it to this extension or releasing it standalone (requiring this ext) in order to not change the code for gamification.

To add more context to the above, I'd also like to set the default view of discussions to 'trending' rather than 'latest' (I see above there's mention of a 'hot' sort, but I don't have that option?), and to tweak the algorithm so that the more time that passes the less significant a thread becomes.

Something like this:

Score = (P-1) / (T+2)^G
where,
P = points of an item (and -1 is to negate submitters vote)
T = time since submission (in hours)
G = Gravity

Kyrne Thanks mate. Is 'hotness' the same as 'trending'? Or is it a different concept? I ask because I can't see an option to rank by hotness. Also, is there a switch somewhere to set the default view to sort by trending/hotness rather than the latest posts?

troymccann Yes, trending is the same as hotness, the names were chosen b/c of English semantics. There is currently no switch to make the default.

You should disable the "likes" extension if you have this enabled.
