Is it possible to reset the leaderboard every month? I have that idea of hosting a "user of the month" contest which will require resetting the leaderboard every month

Mark73 that would require nuking all of the upvotes and downvotes, which I assume, is what you’d like to have as an option? 🙂 It would be possible to implement.

teletubbie that is the intended function of the extension. This extension mirrors Reddit's karma system which rewards users one point for making a post.

        Hello
If any user is able to reach the best score upvoting his/her own.
By the way, this is happening having disabled the "Auto upvote posts when posted" option.

teletubbie if users are able to get to the top of the leaderboard by just posting and getting their 1 upvote, you probably have a spam problem.

Please do know that users can like their own posts with Flarum Likes

Merged 2 posts from Suggestion for Best Answer.

teletubbie gamification and likes are two different features, and we recommend to not use both:

FriendsOfFlarum Note: This extension is meant as a replacement for the Flarum Likes extension. Therefore, they are not compatible and it's recommended to disable the Likes extension.

I'm not sure whether you are actually using both, but I just want to make sure as you can't compare Discuss (which uses Likes) with another forum that uses Gamification, as those are two completely independent extensions.

Ralkage Why not add a timestamp to an upvote/downvote entry, and then enable filtering based on that? No nuking required, just a gambit.

Yalfoosh resetting would indicate starting at 0 again but @Mark73 wasn’t really detailing much of his requirements to understand how this feature request is supposed to behave like. I mean, filters could be added for different times of the year and possible a default filter could be chosen but that would take some time implement 🙂

                  I agree with @teletubbie
An user shouldn't be able to vote his own posts; it would be like cheating to climb the rankings.

Why don't let the admin to choose to enable or not this option?

Ralkage that would require nuking all of the upvotes and downvotes, which I assume, is what you’d like to have as an option?

EDIT: I actually don't want to nuke all the upvotes/downvotes, I want the points to remain all the time on users profiles but I want them to automatically reset on the rankings page on the 1st of each month so I can assign the user on the top of the leaderboard a "user of the month" badge by moving him to a separate group for a whole month! That's basically it, resetting the rankings page monthly. I would be glad to see this added to the extension in future updates!
