To add to the above, when there’s a new post from an ignored user in a discussion and no other new posts, the discussion should be marked as read or even better, not appear on top of the list for a reader who has ignored that user that bumped it.
I know this may seem like some minor issue, however I am an owner of a small community with not many active users, however we are a good and peaceful community. We’ve recently had one user that would just post some really boring stuff in many topics. It’s not spam, it’s not against the rules, it’s not rude and is not excessive but it’s just boring for many of the users and they complain to me that they have no desire to visit the forum only to discover that all the new replies they see are from that same guy. We used to have days with no new replies or just an occasional reply from the regular users. With that user we constantly have at least 10 replies in different discussion on daily basis. That may seem like a really minor problem but it just spoils the atmosphere. I personally have no issues with his posts but I can also understand all these people who don’t want to read all the nonsense. I believe he’s a clever troll who’s doing it on purpose but I can’t know for sure.
So, let the user do as he wishes but for anybody who has ignored him, the forum should look like the user is not existing: no discussion bumps, no hidden posts.
