We (at @glowingblue) are also thinking about this issue of multi-language support for elements where the label (string) is set in the admin interface.

We haven't got a solution yet, but I kind of like the idea of sijad :

in settings table we can save a key instead of the real values.

We could add a UI that helps the admin to create keys, he can then set the values for in FoF/Linguist.

We have a customer that needs this feature for the end of the year. If I get time to do it, maybe we will release this as a premium extension on @Extiverse.

iPurpl3x Hi iPurpl3x, I found that this client of yours has the functionality mentioned above (multi-language forum that translates tags and posts based on the language selected by the user) - https://community.upc.ch/. Did you guys ever release it on @Extiverse ? If not, are there any plans regarding that? Thanks!

arman We might release it in the near future, but for now we don't have the budget required to get it out of beta version. A few problems reside that need still to be addressed before we can release a public version.

MrB or iPurpl3x I assume that the Release of V1 also meant (means) a lot of work for you guys. Did you have any chance to get the discussion started on if and how you are going to release that. I’d still be very interested and I am sure a lot of others too 😁

Hi there. We currently evaluate what is left to be able to release it public but we'll sure make it available. Maybe free and even crowdfunded as @luceos suggested or as a premium extension. Keep you posted on the progress.

GreXXL both @MrB and @iPurpl3x are on vacation at the moment, so I'll jump in here...

Internally we have this extension updated for Flarum 1.0, and have resolved most of the remaining issues with the extension. I'm currently working on ironing out the last couple of awkward 🐛 🐛 , then we'll be able to post back here with an update on how this can be released 🙂

One question about this, does this also allow to translate the tag descriptions or just the tag?

Will this extension be free? Open-source with possibility to make donations? If it becomes open-source, developers can participate in its evolution for example, and maybe even become native to Flarum 2.0?

Awesome news, starting out with Flarum and this was one of first huge gaping holes that I noticed. Single language Tags and similar entities, either imply so much more admin work or more likely single language communities.
