@Kyrne When installing on my vps server the following error appears while trying to enable the extension:

PHP 7.1.31-1 ubuntu: 16.04.1
MySQL: 10.0.38-MariaDB

ram0ng1 I think that an upgrade to mariadb resolves this. I had a similar issue and upgraded.

ram0ng1 I upgraded via SSH to mariadb. This will vary on who your VPS is hosted with, but they should have a guide on how to do this.

luceos i didn't know I had to install it. i installed a lot of extension, but I've never seen that warning before.

luceos why does this error occur when installing only this extension? what is differences username-request extension, because i've already installed almost all flarum extension i have never seen that error. also, cannot installing other flarum extensions after this error.

[deleted] I couldn't answer why it needs it, but I can help you install git. Simply type sudo apt install git, press Y if needed. Once it finishes, you can then run composer install to fix any installation issues.

Frink Packagist is just the package repository which tells Composer where to get the code from (aka the source). So in turn, Composer gets the code by cloning (downloading) it from the VCS source (aka GitHub) using git and putting it into the correct vendor folder as instructed by the composer.json file.

010101 That'd odd. Some people are having issues with fof/ban-ips because of old MySQL/MariaDB installations. That's the only issue with it afaik. Please do provide your log when you can 🙂.

Ralkage Yeah, I understand that much, but I wasn't able to answer why it was requiring it for just that one extension. IMO it should have required it when installing Flarum, right?

I know I’ll be asked for my log. Which I can provide at some point. On the go on my phone right now. I cannot install this. Oops error occurs. Same with the new IP ban extension. The new Draft extension does install. So, it is only Username Request and IP ban.
