GIF platform extension

I got an idea, most of social media sites and communities have a GIF platform support. Everybody knows Facebook and Twitter has this feature. And many other CMS has too (like Peepso). GIFs are funny and communities mostly likes. Maybe Flarum users needs an extension like this powered by GIPHY or Tenor.

What do you think about this idea guys?

I considered looking into creating a Giphy/Tenor/Reaction gif's extension down the line in ReFlar, but alas we got swamped by other high priority issues 🙂

Would be awesome to have all 3 as options to choose from! Especially if they have special icons in the toolbar 😉

Ralkage 3 icon not a good idea for me. I prefer one GIF icon in toolbar and 3 tabs for GIF services.

@danielunited, @hrvoje_hr, @Kylo, @DursunCan, @tolgaaaltas, I have been working on this extension, so far it looks like this:

Preview

This extension adds a button to the toolbar, when clicked opens this modal. When a GIF is selected from this Modal it inserts that GIF into the Post. There is still a few things to add, I have to still add a 'Loading...' feature, 'No results' feature, fix some minor bugs and try to make it as fast as I can. It will take some more time to complete this but as of now I have a working prototype.

The database it currently uses is Giphy.. in future I hope to add more search engine API's.

therealsujitk Tenor is pretty easy to work with in terms of the API and their used by a lot of services (GBoard, Discord, etc) so I would say that would be my second pick after Giphy is implemented if you get around to supporting multiple services.
