[deleted] a change/feature was recently added where it now applies dark mode for guests depending on their device preference 🙂

I am slowly thinking about added an option to force enable or disable this feature for those of you who just want to have it as an option instead.

Ralkage I don't see that feature yet on this forum or am I missing something, get moving we want some black on this forum 😉
Would be very nice with an option for users having some control over the colors as well, like in FluxBB where one can choose another theme as a user and override the standard set by the admin.

Would it be possible to change the tag names color to white? I'm unable to force it with CSS, !important isn't enough either because there's already another one...

In Appearance there is a mode known as Dark Mode at least on Farum.Cloud..... Would be nice if the users also had some control on this forum to do something of that nature. The white is way blinding!

JesusIsGodAlmighty Discuss does not have this extension installed yet, there are still some issues to be worked out before that would happen. What your referring to is global for all users, we would not want to force that on discuss.

tankerkiller125 What is Discuss, is that the forum main name? Or the Forum. I don't know much but the feature is found in Farum.Cloud for at least admins. Or maybe it is a plugin of some sort activated, I don't really know much as I'm pretty new to it all.

JesusIsGodAlmighty discuss is what we call this forum here that we are currently on. The feature exist on all flarum installs but only the admins can control it and it's global for all users including guest. There is an extension to make it user configurable (kind of) but we have not installed it here yet because there is still fine tuning to be had.

tankerkiller125 Okay, just saying FluxBB had some kind of a feature like that 🙂 But I'm sure it will come around, at least would be nice with some kind of option on that level.

@JesusIsGodAlmighty this extension is supposed to replicate the actual "Dark Mode" theme available in the Appearance tab in the Admin CP but it does have it's quirks 🙂 We will work on making it as close to a replica as possible to the actual feature in Flarum's core in the near future. It'll at least be more native and be easily updated if any design/frontend changes occur in the future.

I want to also thank everyone else who has been experiencing issues with this extension (design-wise) for their patience and we will have your fixes in as we figure out a better solution for these issues 🤗

Ralkage I'm new in flarum, When I install this plugin & active it makes my site default mode is Dark mode. Without login, it's always stayed with dark. Please give me a solution.

mhktanbir this is a recent feature that was added to which detects device preference for guests and logged in users by default 🙂 so if you have dark mode enabled on any of your devices with this extension enabled, night mode will automatically activate.

I am considering either adding this as a permission option or setting to have this as a forced or manual option instead.

Ralkage Even better is if we could get the day/night mode switch out of the user dropdown and into it's own button. That would help more than anything I think.

Ralkage When I tried in the private mode of browser with different IP. it also takes me dark mode. but my system settings not enable dark mode.

maybe it's a bug.

tankerkiller125 contrary to that, I rarely switch modes on websites that offer the ability. I'd just as soon keep it out of the way/hidden 99% of the time.

Kylo Already tried. I have tried by delete cache, from a different browser, from private mode, from different ips.

jordanjay29 The problem with keeping it in the user dropdown though is that it's not available to guest. So either it either need to move it out for guest only or we just need it to be separate entirely.
