Flarum community meetup

Hi everyone,

I'm going to go ahead and throw this out there. Flarum as a community has grown considerably, and I wondered if there was any interest in setting up local meetups as a way of expanding further. This could be an opportunity to sell flarum swag, trade ideas, etc - you name it.

Feel free to shoot me down. It's just an idea.....

But, it could take off and give flarum another way to increase income to pay for additional development 😁

[deleted] This has certainly been an ambition of the Flarum team. Hosting one formally takes a big investment of time, energy and money, but it'd be really cool to see local meetups happen as well.

Ideas like these have been playing in my mind, the question is.. are there enough people in a specific area or would people be willing to travel a larger distance to get to a larger audience?

I think a nice Q&A live stream would be even better, why? Because even our staff here at Flarum are from all over and travelling is expensive, especially anywhere out of the US 😂

Some great ideas here. I agree with Ralkage - meetups can be virtual, not necessarily physical. There's also the possibility of arranging local meetups.

I vote virtual due to everyone being all over. The mega CMS companies I shalt not name, can do local physical meetups because they are huge. It's pretty much a given that there are devs or users in every major city. Flarum might get there one day. But, I don't think it's there yet.

A live "stable release" celebration sounds nice. Virtual or physical.

010101 I think a Virtual "stable" celebration would be great, maybe do some things like explaining features (kind of like an ad) for new people just hearing about flarum, some basic demos from plugin devs on making plugins and then after that maybe some multiplayer games that people can all join in on and play together.

To make global announcement for great global international software (Flarum), the easiest way is gathering symbolic support from global users, Devs or Team or Flarum Communities.
I suggest to do:

Each user, wherever come from.. Make a banner, with some simple words such "Congratulation from (which country)
Then take the selfie or grab those banner picture
Massively uploaded into Flarum Blog or live site etc..
Finally, We got many "greeting" photos from many country 😀

That's it... My Personal idea...
Maybe Flarum has guideline text/words for banner design. I will follow that..
I hope, this international virtual celebration watched by investors...
