010101 If I do it one way, it ignores the loop attribute. If I do it another way, it works, but always; it can't remove the loop attribute.

Is possible that loop is set to always on or off by default and you add a setting in the Extensions to do the opposite? If that is not possible, if you could keep it on for default for this extension and off from your other audio extensions, so people can use whichever one they want? I really need it as many have expressly said that they come to the site first thing they get up to play the audio as it relaxes them and would want it to keep on playing in loop in the background because they may not want to download every single new audio. And they can always quickly pause or stop the audio playing in loop on the phone through the top notifications dropdown on android or the bottom control panel on iOS without having to visit the flarum discussion. I think loop may also cache the audio for offline playback in the browser if their internet cuts off. Thanks so much for adding flac too.

nitaaikumar Sorry, I don’t want to turn it on by default because someone else may want to use this extension and they may not like looping. I’m afraid I don’t have the time, or desire, to add settings at this time. I think I’ve got a little Flarum extension burnout. Time to rest. 😴

I’ll leave you with a manual option if you want... It’s pretty easy... Replace line 19 in this extension’s extend.php file with:

'<p><audio class="bbaudio inline-exclude" style="width:{NUMBER}%;" controls loop>

After this change go to your admin dashboard and clear your Flarum’s cache.

010101 Oh you took the right decision. Just found out that iOS 13 does not play the html5 audio from any web page in the background if it has a loop tag to it. Very smart, eh!

No. I thought about adding this but, this would mean any forum member could post a music player which auto plays which could be unexpected and annoying. Also, many devices, like the iPhone, block auto playing anyway.
This is solely an audio BBCode; it has nothing to do with video. But, you may use this formatting extension to make video URLs auto embed.

The shortcode in which I link to a local mp3 file is giving me view of the player and an unplayable audio.

Any reason why it may be the case? Does this extension conflict with any other ones, like FoF Upload?

nickdecker fof upload wraps the upload in a bbcode. This extension needs the raw URL.

My shortcodes are related to radio online mp3 files and this helps us to speed up the radio transmission. It's great, isn't it?

Is there a way to make it work with FoF Upload? Or do I have to deactivate it?

It's hard to figure out the full path to the MP3 file from the Media Manager window.

Or is there another audio player which works better with FoF Upload?

nickdecker What’s it look like after you upload an audio file? Is it a link? An icon? I’ve never uploaded an audio file with the upload extension. Only images.

It looks like a box which displays the size of the file, it's name and also gives the button to download it.

nickdecker That's what I was afraid of. Sorry, this extension won't work like that. This is just for converting raw audio URLs into a player. There is no extension which will convert the upload into a player at this time.

Such an extension would have to convert FoF Upload's BBCode back to a raw URL somehow. Or, override it. It's not something I can work on at this time.

Thanks 010101 for developing audio extension. Personally, I like the Essential Audio best. However, only BBcode Add-on will work on my website.

I tried both

[play]https://website.com/audio.mp3[/play] for Essential Audio.
and
[player artist=optional title=optional]URL[/player] for Inline Audio.

I got a live site[here], with Essential Audio installed. Just in case, if you want to see.

Is there a way to disable the download file function in the audio player? I'm creating a songwriting forum and don't want people to be able to download the file easily.

whisperwow Not currently, but that option can be added. I’ll make a note to add this option.

Maybe the format could be download=no and that would add this HTML audio variable: controlsList="nodownload".

However, if you want no download by default so that your users don’t have a choice, that would be a custom BBCode that I could make just for your forum.
