Introducing my first premium extension, an in-depth WordPress integration for Flarum.

It offers two main features:

SSO

SSO Login modal
Welcome modal

Adds WordPress login to Flarum, along with a global single sign-on and sign-out.

User can connect through WordPress or Flarum and will automatically be connected on both platforms.

Logging out will also clear both sessions before redirecting to the WordPress logout page.

Email changes and password resets happen via WordPress.

WordPress SSO can be used alongside normal Flarum login, or replace it completely.

Comments

Embed on WordPress side
Post summary on Flarum side

Replaces WordPress comments with an iframe containing a Flarum discussion.

Discussions are automatically created by Flarum along with a summary of the WordPress post.

Discussions can be automatically locked and hidden when the comments status is changed in WordPress.

Guest posting is not possible with this integration enabled.

I’m sure someone else will ask if I don’t. So, I’ll just ask: Would you ever consider a one and done package/payment? I see it is a monthly payment. This is fine if I had a popular website. I’d gladly pay per month. But, for those of us who just mess around and don’t have a popular site, a one time payment is typically preferred. Of course, I know then there’s the issue of getting updates and stuff.

Regardless, again congratulations, this sounds like one of the best Flarum extensions ever and I would buy it if I had a somewhat popular website. 😁 So, who knows, one day I might buy this.

010101 right now that's the only option flagrow.io offers. When Extiverse introduces one-time payments I will consider it.

How updates will work will depend on what Extiverse offers. Without a subscription there's always a possibility the next Flarum beta breaks the version you paid for within 2 months... It'll be a completely different story when Flarum reaches stable.

I think the current price not too high given it's around 65USD a year and within a year a major update would most likely be necessary, meaning buying the extension again anyway.

How do payments work exactly via Flagrow? Is it truly monthly or can you go ahead and pay for the year?

I agree that is a very fair price. 110% worth it if you have a WordPress site. And, seeing what you’ve coded before you know this is quality.

If you have a WordPress site and need to integrate with Flarum this is a no brainer. Buy this.

010101 this would be best discussed in a dedicated flagrow.io discussion. I don't think you can do yearly. It's monthly via credit card processed by Stripe.

I've got the chance to test it last few weeks and it's a really good extension, powerful, solid and easy to use. And it's just the beginning. Would definitely recommend to everyone here.

I'm sure that Flarum project and @clarkwinkelmann are both gonna benefit of this. Most popular CMS in the world with probably the best free forum software today is one great combination and soon a lot of people are gonna come here. Wordpress forum plugins are terrible and I don't know any other separate forum software with integration quality as this one.

@clarkwinkelmann just browsing through the documentation, and I'm wondering if this will work for those (like myself for example) who typically mask the wp-login.php or replace it with something else such as /login for security reasons ? In addition, would 2FA defined by the WordPress login function also work ?

I also think it's a bit expensive, unfortunately it's the lowest I can set on flagrow.io at the moment.

Using the iframe is the only way to make sure it works with all other extensions you might have.

I might develop a no-iframe implementation in the future, but it will require a lot more development (making the ext more expensive) and there would likely be a whitelist of other third-party extensions that are compatible.

I have not tested it. Is there a specific plugin I should try ? As long as the plugin retains the redirect_to parameter in the url, I think it could still work.

Our steam powered machineries are running amock. It seems that Wordpress Integration by kilowhat is not available as premium extension. Several reasons might exist for this:

The extension is available publicly.

The author has withdrawn the extension.

No payment information was available for this author.
If you think this is a mistake, please reach out to us.

and for an extension for a beta forum, having to pay 65$ bye year.. really?? In my opinion, it's a bit expensive.

Another think, the comments integration is.... poor. That's a good begining, at this moment, but integrat them in an iFrame... hum. That's not a good "wordpress" practice 🙂

After that, it's a good alternative you purpose and maybe do a subscribtion to pay you big coffee every month ☕️
At this moment, I use another SSO plugin and work really fine, but it dont have comments integration.

To resume : good work for a beta forum and hope you continue that's great work to a better integration with wordpress if it's possible.

Several plugins simply rename it using .htaccess, but using the default wp-login.php is considered bad practice, and I think you should factor this in as part of the design. My recommended plugin for testing is Shield Security - https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-simple-firewall/ (OneDollarPlugin) as this offers both a way to use .htaccess to re-write wp-login.php and also offers 2FA out of the box.

Configured my WP site with Flarum literally in minutes. It's so easy. And most important everything works!
