This extension is cool, but I'd rather not have the loading spinner, as it draws attention needlessly. I'd prefer if the original avatar would be shown and then replaced instantly with the custom image whenever it has finished downloading.

Hey. Awesome plugin. However, I am getting a spinning circle when the post includes a video and no image. Is there a way to set a timeout if the preview doesn't load and then default to the user's avatar? The spinning circle looks like it's broken.

Hi, is there a way that user can put an invisible avatar image in the post (so the thumbnail will show the user's avatar, but not showing the first visible image in the post)?

Maybe it's a solution 😉 for the user to choose from showing the first image or there Avatar in the post thumbnail.

This is my thought. Can it be realized through CSS? Anyone got any ideas?

If the image(s) in 1st post of each topic are huge size, then home page with list of topics takes a while to load on slower connections.
Is there anyway to create a small size thumbnails and save in a directory like /cache or /thumb and use them only to display on home / tags / category pages

wbntff I'd say that's currently out of the scope of this extension. The best way to add a thumbnail to discussions would probably be to have an image field, that way the image can be processed. Of course, this'd mean that a lot more files are stored on the hosting - currently, this extension doesn't do anything except extract the URL of images, not the images themselves.

datitisev Hello. I know the feature of this extension is to replace the profile picture with the first image of the article. But I have another idea. I want the thumbnail to appear on its own instead of replacing the user's avatar. Hope you will consider this idea. For example reddit:

Wow! Very very very cool! I'm super happy about this extension! Totally transformed the look of my forum for the better.

Is there a way to apply different CSS to thumbnails made from the user's avatar vs the topic image? Everything looks amazing until a topic without an image appears. I'd like to keep the user's avatars small and the image preview large.

Spez I think that'd make more sense to have in an SEO centered extension. I think adding SEO features to this ext does not make sense.

datitisev Why do you think it has anything to do with SEO? I'm not talking about SEO. What I mean is how the image is displayed. Instead of showing only one of the two, we show both, both the poster's avatar and the first image in the post.

Spez I mentioned SEO because if I remember correctly, the metadata that is added to accomplish the images showing up like that is very similar to what is done with SEO, and often go hand in hand.
