This component is responsible https://github.com/flarum/core/blob/master/js/src/forum/components/PostUser.js It's a combination of Mithril template with a bit of CSS and jQuery in order to have an animated in/out effect. Should we move this to the Dev tag if you'd like to discuss Flarum internals ?
