Banned badge should be visible to all user. Just had a big confusion about that in my community. I wasn't aware that regular users don't see it.

This is very subjective. I know forums that would be horrified to know the suspension status was shared publically.

If this was ever a feature, IMO it should be a setting, which is disabled by default. This could also be implemented as a small extension for those forums which want to display it

But it should be optional and opt-in.

Suspended user should be able to see that their status is set to banned when they login and not just the notification, and you should be able to add a reason for the ban that only the user sees when they recieve it
