It's strange to me that only admin can answer to the message posted by the "normal" user.

I think, the normal user should be able to reply too, and may be add some more information too.

May be it's my configuration or a conflict with another extension?

I found it!

It's in the permissions.

First, you must allow the group to see all messages.
This allow you to activate "allow answers" for this group.

Second, you remove the allowed "see all messages",
This will hide the "allow answers" for this group... but still present.

So, it's a bug in the permissions interface. It's vicious 😀

Lautre-f This no longer seems to work in Flarum 1.7.0.
Tragic, because otherwise this extension does behave well in that version.

I updated my Flarum, and missed the 1.7 vresion.

The Help tags extension seems works fine in Flarum 1.8.1

Hello,

I've encountered an issue. If any of the tags have the setting that allows "Browsing the forum (discussions and users)" by unregistered users (for example, a tag for general announcements), then setting "Show to everyone who has access to these tags" on any forum post will also display that post to unregistered users.

Here's an example, the unregistered view:

I have also noticed that when I click on "delete forever" inside ~~such a help tag~~ any tag, nothing happens...
It works fine when I disable the extension...

Hey @askvortsov ,
I love that plugin, but when somebody start new disscusion and "closed group" can answer... and ask for some more informations, then author of the post can't reply ?,

I can chose in panel startDiscussion permision for all members, but I can't allow them to reply...

@askvortsov following up on @Redoslaw question as well.

Is there a way to allow the post creator to reply? Right now once they "Report" someone on my forum, the admin/mod team can respond, but then the reporter is unable to reply. I try to change their permission but it is grayed out.

For those of you that may still be running into the weird permissions bug - where the user cannot reply to their own post - you can fix it by performing the following:

Go into the main "Permissions" tab and give the group the "View forum (discussions and users)" permission
Scroll down and give the group the "Start discussions" and "Start discussions without approval" permissions
Scroll back up and remove the group from the "View forum (discussions and users)" permission

Even though the group appears to no longer have the "Start discussions" and "Start discussions without approval" the permissions will persist afterwards.
