Did you change the code to lessen the server load?

I had this extension on beta 13 and it slowed down the whole server to almost 50% and I had no choice but to remove this extension because it was always causing server to be unstable

HD3D I don't have any production metrics since I'm not using the extension myself. The statement is based on how it's implemented and because I never heard of anyone having issues previously.

I think the most important part is how many users are included in the visible readers. This was designed as a moderation tool for the original sponsor, intended only to list a few groups with not too many users. This is the warning that's in the README file.

If there are hundreds or thousands of visible users, I definitely expect issues with the current implementation. But when the number of readers is just a few dozens, I don't expect any dramatic performance decrease since it's just one more standard relationship.

I would expect the performance to be similar to the Likes extension if every user liked every post they saw.

HD3D clarkwinkelmann I was the original sponsor and yes the use case was to have a way for moderators to know what other moderators read. That's how I still use it today, it might be that it slightly slows performance in my case, but it's just for the staff of the forum which is composed of a few people, so it's ok.

basti4k it's definitely something I could create as a sponsored extension. It doesn't make much sense to put that feature into this particular extension because apart from a few lines of CSS that could be re-used there is not much in common.

I think most of the features visible in the screenshot are already available in Flarum, just as separate extensions or API attributes. And I think I've seen a forum that implemented a view similar to this. It might have been a private theme.

i've been using php ver 8.2.1, i tried to install the extension and gives error, state that my php version is too high, i cant downgrade it bcs i use same php ver for other production service.

Has it been tested with flarum 1.8? I am on 1.4 and preparing migration to 1.8 this summer.

edouard-gv it works just fine with 1.8. I do recommend to update soon as 1.4 is subject to security issues that are only addressed with later releases.
