I've worked on the latest changes, going to check my environment.

I've enabled

fof/forum-statistics-widget is working
afrux/forum-widgets-bundle
- Forum Stats Widget is working
- Online Users Widget is working
Custom HTML Widget (cannot enable it)

But I think there is a different extension that is breaking your website.

Oh you mean, the widget are missing only on the Categories page?

Yippy yeah, its missing on Categories page. This is a default view on main page for my setup. And its work on all another pages like "All discussions", etc.

I understood that you already got an issue on Categories page. If not I can give a link to my main page and "All discussions" page for comparing. Or screenshots if my settings needed.

Custom HTML widget give you just field for entering any HTML in source view. And then you can output this block of HTML throw Forum Widgets with just drag'n'drop (position can be selected left/right/top/bottom etc).

All of this didnt displayed for now on Categories page. No any new modules installed, just minor updates for all modules including Categories.

I believe, the previous 'feature' for you was a bug. I've followed the Tags page template, and that also doesn't show the widgets and bit and bobs. The Tags and Categories was acting only like 'Tag List' pages, I would prefer that there is a new admin settings for displaying widgets, as many does not have the Categories pages as their main page. I will need to work on this after my other extension project.

Best thing you can do is revert to the old version. by amending the composer.json

Correction, only the left side stats shows for Tags Page. The right side widgets isn't there.
So I need to investigate left side widget and right side widget, with a option to enable or display them.

Absolutely right, only left sidebar. Right and other positions not much suitable for default style/theme and I'd prefer to use left sidebar. I think about downgrade, will see for several days. Thanks for instruction, hope it can be fixed with separate option in settings.

Yeah, I've already started working on implementing the 4 different ways for widget to appear on Categories. The option that I'm now working on is left, right, header and footer. I've got most of it working.... and I was thinking surely Widget didn't work on this extension. Alot of guessing and rejigging to get the widget back is awkward, only the left side " Forum Statistics Widget" was the easiest but the fix I've made doesn't handle left sidebar top and left sidebar bottom widget for afrux bundle.

What I got working was:
afrux widget : header, right sidebar, and footer
Forum Statistics Widget : left sidebar

Currently the update I'm working on is WIP.

I've made the widget fix and improved text color, it be nice to have some testing feedback if anyone wish to test this.

To test this:
Amend the composer.json file.

OK, now it's looks.. freshly 🙂 I have some custom styles from old version and I need some time to test settings.

Forum stats output corrected. Seems it works fine. In overall its looks like a great job 🙂

You can test this PR with the Primary Child Tag color theme, https://github.com/askvortsov1/flarum-categories/pull/50#. There is gif examples of the new Color Theme for Primary Tags and support for night and day with text contrast.

Hi! This is one of my favorite extensions.

When I turn off the "Optimize for small forums" option, the count can be way off especially if I just deleted a big discussion. It seems that turning off this setting doesn't work well with deleted discussions.

Is there a way I can correct the count without having to turn the option on? I tried "Clear Cache" and that wasn't effective.

The only thing that worked was to delete the Tag and recreate it.

Yippy i see only one serious miss: general alignment of the container. Old version: If you expand drop-down menu from your account-name (where exit button placed) - you will see that the right border of the container is just identical to the right border of the dropdown menu. This canonical alignment for all flarum pages.
And left border must be just identical to first pixel of the forum title.
For new WIP version container goes to the right and more narrow.

So, alignment broken for mobile (too thin), etc. This is behavior unexpected and need to be fixed.

After this it can be released. It have some mulfunction just out-the-box, but this function is new and didnt broke anything else:

it didnt output data from Forum Widgets, but it didnt early.
seems it have some day/night mode workaround
its output forum stats!!!

So, its better then early.

I am rolled backup for now, cause alignment is important for my mobile users. Everything also is good or WIP (not broken). Old css rules seems compatible with new version. By the way, I am using old version with this custom css (i am not using compact mode cause of too awry):

This do primary tag block a little bit smaller and pretty. Not like a huge button. Also I do less interval between blocks. This pretty much too. And little workaround for night mode - not black, but near black icons. Its really not bad on modern high contrast displays (mobile phones mainly) and still can be improved with background tune. This is also related to Lumeinshin. He wants just commom settings for color for all sub-tags. Not default. With saving uniq color for tag on all over pages.

Of course this css tweaks too ugly, but maybe this views can be founded pretty for you too.

Problem described by navindra also confirmed. I try to turn off and turn on the extension, but counters still didnt affected. It's just goes crazy.. Showing 22 discussion with total 1 post 🙂

Gorm oh yeah, the comma is for extra repo which I have in my composer file.

I will work on some code improvements, but busy with another extension at the moment. But atleast I know that it works for you.

Gorm Yeah the container for introducing the widget header made the entire page shift in a smaller and narrow container. Atleast you wrote it down, almost forgot. I will have to look at the IndexPage layout and try and ensure to copy the same structure.

I will work on the changes soon, and let you know when I'm done.

I’m having an issue with hiding the padding on the parent tag, but on mobile specifically. If you navigate to my forum on desktop, you can see that I have removed the padding from the padding from the parent categories.

To accomplish this I did this .ParentCategory.TagCategory-alignEnd { display: none !important; }

However, this does not work for mobile. The padding is still present.

Does anyone know how to resolve this so there is no padding on mobile?
