[deleted] Does discuss even have a privacy policy or anything? I dont see it anywhere.

I don't think it does - but it should have both a privacy policy, and an option to opt out of non-essential cookies.
[deleted] Yeah i don't think discuss is GDPR friendly at all lol.
[deleted] [deleted] We have a privacy policy linked on our homepage.
Does it work with the real-time chat extension?
danielunited not currently, but it could be extremely easily integrated.
Kyrne That would be awesome! I'd switch in a heartbeat if it supported it.

Why? GDPR doesn't forbid the use of third-party services...
matteocontrini no, it doesn't. That's correct. What it DOES enforce is governance and controls over that third party entity as your data is being processed by someone else. By inference, that third party becomes both custodian and controller whilst they are processing that data and you need to have and be able to prove controls are in place.
By not sending the data to any third party, you negate that requirement and will instantly be compliant for this sense.
Does this extension also update discussions & other component automatically (unlike Pusher, where the user needs to press a button)?
danielunited which components? The websocket functionality is currently identical on the front end to pusher.
I would say it works better than Pusher
Websocket doesn't have issue with private / not public discussion!
danielunited If you're talking about pressing the button to reload the discussion list on new posts - yeah, that's still there.
I hope this extension will be converted to free in the near future
I think Kyrene apply crowd-funding for make it free to use. May be he collect 2000-3000 dollars to make open source extension.
ram0ng1 I am saving money to buy annual plan my forum is not big
1 Dollar = 6,85 Turkish Liras and bread price in Istanbul 1.5 lira.
Since we have huge problems to get Pusher running on our provider space, I wonder if we could test to get websockets running. If so, we would be interested in the "once" plan. Is there a possibility to get a test license and try to get it working before purchasing it?
fakruzaruret You need to update that pic.
