I know @Toby you notice my request about Reply button showing up inline (hovering) on selected text.

Now I just find out, that big REPLY button on right is always visible. So It can be also used to this case. So when select something, this default topic reply button will also crate mention and quote in editor of new reply. Reply buttons under posts are much less available than this fixed right button. So maybe you include this function also.

I think this would be a great addition. As I was teaching someone to use the forum today, this seemed like the instinctual thing to do. Highlight text, then hit reply. They didn't so much distinguish between having to hit reply on the specific post or hit the highlighted reply button.

Honestly, that's the intuitive part to me. If you want a blank reply, use the main button. Want to reply to a specific post? Use the post-specific reply.

More often than not, I want a blank reply, but my mouse is closer to the post-specific reply. So I just remove the mention and carry on. ?

I agree. However, this individual with whom I was working (new to forums – and most tech for that matter) seemed to naturally try a different route. Thought I'd mention it.
