I've been following these notes: https://flarum.org/docs/install.html#server-requirements

I have all of these dependencies installed and up to date (i think) I installed each one individual.
Apache (with mod_rewrite enabled) or Nginx
PHP 7.2.9+ with the following extensions: curl, dom, gd, json, mbstring, openssl, pdo_mysql, tokenizer, zip
MySQL 5.6+ or MariaDB 10.0.5+
SSH (command-line) access to run Composer

I'm using a digital ocean droplet the 2gb ram deal.

I'm going absolutely bonkers. Don't know what to do at this point.
I set my folder root to be :/home/user/flarum/public

I did that in the default htaccess file.

I have no idea why I can't see the forums please help I've been trying for 5 hours straight no exaggeration.

Make sure you set the root in the Apache virtualhost config, not htaccess. Setting the root in htaccess will result in a 500 error if htaccess files are enabled.

Please pay special attention to https://flarum.org/docs/install.html#folder-ownership I have a feeling that your file permissions/ownership is incorrect. Please make sure to chown the files to whatever the apache user is. In ubuntu I believe it defaults to www-data

clarkwinkelmann one thing I did not do is any set up to my sql database. Do I need to create tables or anything?

L1fe there are effectively 2 parts to installing flarum. The first is downloading the files via composer and configuring your web server and host to serve it properly. This is the part that you seem to be stuck on. The second part is a web / CLI installer to which you will provide DB credentials, and it will create all the proper tables, as well as an initial admin account. The second part doesn't happen (and doesn't make sense to happen) until your web server is properly configured in the first part.

guys i'm not your average programmer I've been working at this last night from 8pm till 1:56am.
and again today for 4-5 hours. I've got like a mental dysfunction it's really hard for me to quit when I'm trying to meet a goal.

I will throw $20+ at anyone that can help me get this going. Please help.
