Hi there,

You could potentially use the mailchimp implementation and then send newsletters from that, see: https://extiverse.com/extension/clarkwinkelmann/flarum-ext-silent-mailchimp
hamedkouhfallah this is something I've been working on (amongst other things) for a while now. Hope to have it ready for beta in a month or so
IanM looking forward to this !
Any update on this? I've seen this feature in other forum software, and experienced it first hand on a number of communities I have registered on and it is really quite useful to receive a weekly digest (and preferably a custom schedule, whether it be daily, weekly, monthly depending on how active your forum) to get an overview of popular topics.
It could also be useful as an administrative function to get highlights for your community for your own awareness. To see what the major issues are, or what is trending that you can then use to make business decisions on. So if there were configurations, to create multiple instances of a digest, and in each you could configure the schedule, target users based on certain criteria (e.g. specific groups, all users, active within last X days), tag filter, etc. I think that would be absolutely amazing. I wish you luck in the development, I know it will be a hit here and one of the more popular extensions.
IanM are you still working on this by any chance? I'm building a community forum, but having a digest is a critical features. I can try building it myself, but I'm still holding out hope for one of the three or four people who seem to have been working on something similar to release a 1.0.0 compatible solution
Thanks!
I can use also https://discuss.flarum.org/d/27147-newsletter-email-collector-elasticemail.
U can easy create a list and export all email address
Yeah, this has taken a bit of a back seat for me recently. Now that Flarum has hit stable I'll look into picking this back up again and getting something out the door..
Can't offer any firm timelines at the moment, but hopefully soon
Justoverclock We need to tread carefully here. An opt-in and opt-out mechanism needs to be developed as under GDPR, users need to have this choice for your site to remain compliant. A member isn't legitimate interest in this case, as it wasn't offered at the time of sign-up.
[deleted] i've added a thick box to ask the confirm as u suggest me last time...isn't enough? opt in and opt out are managed by elasticmail...
there's a confirmation mail and opt out mechanism
Justoverclock That's generally OK, but you should include a link to Elastic Mail's privacy policy
I'm looking forward to this with great antici....
pation
I would love to see this work
