@eddiewebb I see a huge potential in this extension, well done.

Something I noticed when I was giving it a try, when you choose the 'list' option to view events, you find one event repeated every single day of its duration. I'd suggest that it only shows the start and the end date of the event in one line, instead of 30 lines if it's up for 1 month for example. I hope I explained it well. But overall, it's amazing.

Mark73 showing the event on each day this is the behavior Google calendar has, I think that makes a lot of sense.

Mark73 thank you! I do see what you mean. I probably fall more in line with luceos 's thoughts, but either way the way events are displayed is from FullCalendar.io, and I don't see a way to easily change that behavior.

luceos Possibly, although I see Google calendar more as a daily to-do list organizer instead of an events calendar.

Thoughts on SEO?

Right now content is just held in memory and show in modal. I wonder if there's a way to make that place nice with crawlers, or if I should move the event details to an overridden DiscussionPage essentially so it has a url?

eddiewebb You can make a plain HTML page for it - see how it's done for /u/<username> @ https://github.com/flarum/core/blob/24b16f9d7cc01a3d61708358ab597adcd864fa8f/src/Forum/Content/User.php. This will also make the events available to the page directly with app.preloadedApiDocument() (or similar) and then u access them with app.store.all('events').

I'd also suggest making routes for specific events, that way you can have some structured data for events. Just some ideas.

SecurityDog, thanks. The idea of invitees and attendees is high on my list, I think I want to add pagination and event pages first and then look at adding the UI and data for attendees and linking with discussions.

Its already a nice extension! 🙂

It would be great to have the option to create automaticly a new discussion, which link to each other. And that users can sign in the event, with an list of all users how will be at the event (who signed in at the calender event).

Great work @Eddiefincer , I'm hoping this extension is still being worked on. An event plugin would be key! I love the idea of having invitees (users, groups) and attendees with optional email reminders as someone else here mentioned already. Please keep up the great work! We'll be keeping an eye out for future updates.

From what I tried:

only in 5 countries out of 197, the beginning of the week starts on Sunday and has a 12-hour time format. This setting would come in handy.
now the extension is not detected by Linguist and its translation into another language is difficult

If the extension doesn't follow the naming convention for translations, it won't be visible in Linguist extension dropdown (expected, webbinaro-calendar, actual flarum-calendar), however you should be able to search for "flarum-calendar" and see all translations.

And this method cannot translate the name in the main menu (Event Calendar)

Aleram that text seems to have been hard-coded, @eddiewebb will have to fix that to make it translatable.
