Flarum is a discussion board and not a "thanks" "thanks sir" "thank you for this content sir" platform. But after running a website for a few months that's what I get when I turn on the "Reply to see" extension. People don't read anything and straight away go to the bottom of the page to reply with a big "thank you ". also many important posts get lost in these spam replies.

So there should be an extension that would let the website owner set a default minute value for all the discussion threads, before unhiding the hidden content. OR Even better, it should automatically figure out how many minutes it would require to read a discussion and then unhide the hidden content

That being said, I also don't want it to be like those referral sites where you have to wait 10 seconds to reveal a download link

r4nchy the Flarum extension API definitely allows implementing something like that.

I'm however not seeing this being super helpful for most communities and as such there's a low chance anyone implements this for free.

Can you share a use case of the kind of community that would require such a feature? Wouldn't some kind of manual approval process make more sense? (ask users to create a presentation thread, then give them access to a role that unlocks the content)

clarkwinkelmann I write about various tools and software and projects and sometimes even giveaways and then link them to the actual software page.

I think I am using flarum as a publishing board rather than a discussion board. 🙂 it may be because of that

I have seen this kind of behaviour on forums which allow downloads or special content like a photo. I personally believe that chat forums and torrent / download links - forums use this kind of feature extensively.
