Helper now creates a proper backup in windows.

Helper now replaces abandoned extensions with the successor or asks you to delete them if none are provided. I had to rework the extiverse api extensively for abandoned extensions to show up.

I've helped @MikeJones and he is now set up. A resume of how we solved it should anyone run into similar issues.

Accessing a vm as a user without a home directory.

composer global require extiverse/helper

The above command did not create a directory under the home directory because it did not exist. To solve this we:

create a custom directory inaccessible to the web: /var/extiverse-helper
install the helper there: cd /var/extiverse-helper && composer require extiverse/helper; note that we dropped global here because the command needs to install into the current directory
now link the binary to a directory inside your PATH, this is usually /usr/local/bin you can check what directories are available using echo "$PATH", we did this: ln -s /var/extiverse-helper/vendor/bin/extiverse /usr/local/bin/extiverse
from now on you can access the extiverse binary on your whole server (so also in you flarum directories) without needing to add php or sudo before it. Make sure to authentication ahead of use extiverse auth.

Gatsu and the global composer method also failed? That is odd..

I'll take a look soon at disabling that compatibility thing or improving the binary for different php versions.

This is a release for when Flarum v1.0 is released! Do not use it before that, your forum will break.

This release offers a simplified upgrade to Flarum 1.0. A new option was added to the upgrade command --flarum-version which allows installing a specific Flarum version and defaults to installing 1.0 and up. So if you plan to upgrade to stable, just run extiverse upgrade. See the OP for details.

Make sure to always make a backup of the database and your files.

Download the latest version (0.3.0) to see compatibility with v1.0.0 ahead of its release:

extiverse check --path /var/www/flarum --flarum-version 1.0.0

It uses a list similar to extiverse.com/?filter[flarum-version]=1.0.0. Please understand that extensions must set their minimum constraint for flarum/core to 1.0.0 to be marked compatible.

luceos llaumgui --flarum-version 1.0.0 might need to be --flarum-version=1.0.0 maybe? (I have not tested, but that's how a Laravel command would work)

Also maybe try placing the ./ path after all other arguments?

Run composer global require extiverse/helper.
Accessing the binary, choose from these options:
~/.composer/vendor/bin/extiverse
Add the ~/.composer/vendor/bin to your PATH and then simply use it with extiverse
Or symlink the binary to your /usr/local/bin with ln -s ~/.composer/vendor/bin/extiverse /usr/local/bin/extiverse
