If these extensions won't "break" after Beta 16 RC1 -> stable (unless after 2.0 which @askvortsov mentioned in another post) then I'll do it again...

The biggest breaking changes were between Flarum beta 14 and 15. There aren't many breaking changes between 15 and 16.

This means most extensions that were sponsored for beta 15 will probably work on beta 16 (although, with deprecated features). If I find some time, I'll test them and update the required Flarum version if no other change is needed.

Extensions that were not updated for beta 15 but continued to work from beta 14 are probably impacted by the features that were deprecated in beta 15 and removed in beta 16. So these will most likely require 30min to 1h of work per extension.

Theoretically, the extensions shouldn't break between RC1 and stable (assuming it was updated to remove everything deprecated in RC1), but they will still require an additional round of testing and tagging for the stable release due to Flarum bumping the semantic versioning.

As always if I find some free time I'll try to update the extensions that require the least work. Otherwise sponsoring is welcome to speed up the process or take care of the more complex extensions.

The 13 premium and actively supported extensions will be done first, probably later this week or next week.

I likely won't take a look at the other extensions before 2-3 weeks.

EDIT: for anyone looking for sponsoring details, for those more "simple" updates without many breaking changes, I usually suggest sponsoring 1 hour of work (via GitHub sponsors or Paypal) and you choose 3-4 extensions you want me to update, test and release. Before starting I do a quick check to verify whether the extensions you want actually require only a few tweaks, or something more important, in which case I can make you an offer for how much work it might be.

matteocontrini in the case of your existing PRs I'll check them out and probably merge soon.

However I would generally advise against it, because it takes me just as much time to review a PR compared to doing the update myself 😅 Sometimes even more.

I don't want to approve PRs without testing them locally first because then it might not be up to the standard I expect from my own extensions 😇

There's also always the risk of having left deprecated calls in the update, and unless I'm certain the PR author checked that thoroughly, I'll want to inspect it using PHPStorm myself before merging, so I'm certain where the extension stands on deprecated code.

All actively maintained open-source extensions are now updated for Flarum beta 16.

I will take care of the 3 remaining premium extensions this weekend. I'll then give some help to the FriendsOfFlarum team, assuming Ian doesn't manage to update all extensions by himself 😇

Unless I suddenly need one of the minimal maintenance extensions on one of my own forums, they won't receive any update before at least a few weeks. If I see any that isn't affected by any breaking changes and just requires a version bump, I'll take care of it first. Sponsoring is welcome to accelerate the process.

Darkle yes I am planning to release that extension as a premium extension at some point, but no precise timeline yet.

It even has a page on my website https://kilowhat.net/flarum/extensions/albums , though it still says it will be released in 2020 🙉

I'm working on a new version of the EV Romandie website with many new community features. Once that's ready, I should be able to release the Albums extension on its own.

I had a few people approach me about the extension in the past, but it turned out it wasn't suited for most of the use cases. It's very advanced, but isn't particularly integrated with the discussion features. So I'm not convinced there will be many buyers.

The internal name for the Albums extension is Cimaise, and that word is probably visible in multiple of my YouTube live streams because I am continuing to maintain it for every new Flarum version internally. I don't want to release it too early because I still make many breaking changes to how the extension works regularly.

Hi @clarkwinkelmann I have seen your EV Romandie electric mobility website and noticed the interesting extension you use in the forum for albums and photos, have you thought about releasing the extension in open source or maybe premium with more features? It's very cool 👍️

clarkwinkelmann Maybe it's not for all websites, but it's a great extension that will fit in some communities for sure, for that point you say about integration in discussions, it would be a good idea the ability to embed albums in discussions, there are many people interested in galleries in discussions this would be something similar, although I don't think it's an easy/possible task as I've heard the limitations of composer.

All my actively maintained open-source extensions are now compatible with Flarum 1.0, there is no upper constraint so you will be able to install them on all further 1.x updates as well.

That being said, some of my extensions use some Flarum features that are not part of the public API and as such could break in future Flarum release.

It includes complicated, developer-focused extensions like Scratchpad which tap into the Flarum internals to register additional code to simple extensions like Color Circle which modify the Avatar virtual DOM and could break if Flarum changes class names or add new children to the existing elements.

When possible, I will try to list which versions of Flarum an extension was tested with.

I will try to update all 4 premium extensions this weekend.

[color] bbcode is enabled by the Flarum bbcode extension. Here you can see the full list of native bbcodes in the formatting library https://s9etextformatter.readthedocs.io/Plugins/BBCodes/Add_from_the_repository/ (disabled by default) and here you can see the list that the bbcode extension enables https://github.com/flarum/bbcode/blob/master/extend.php . Other bbcodes can be enabled from the local extend.php file.

fakruzaruret You can just try to maintain those extensions by yourself instead of begging here, Flarum has a very detailed docs for developers. This will not only save your money but also improve your own coding skills. And if you decide to open source your work, it will be giving back to the community.
