After following upgrade instructions, still have beta 13?

I followed the instructions of the upgrade section, and I am somehow still on Beta 13. So now all my extensions are upgraded but flarum/core is not?

Please help!

I'm not sure why fof/links;sitemap;pages don't get picked up by composer update --no-install --with-all-dependencies either

Try setting all extensions in your composer.json with dependency * and then running that command. Maybe, just maybe, composer doesn't allow updating all dependencies if they bump their major or minor version where the constraint is set to be more specific.

cmwetherell yes and also for the fof and v17development extensions. Just leave flarum/core to what it is now.

Thank you everyone! Now,php flarum info shows I am on Beta 14.1.

Unfortunately, site is still giving error that isn't obvious for me how to solve 🙂

Not sure how useful this is, but I turned debug on in config.php and this is what I see:

That is a cache issue. This happens when the storage/formatter directory cannot be written into anymore by the textformatter library. You need to manually chown that directory (and contents) to the web user.

Alright, thanks for bearing with me... I got it to work. I think I made a mistake during install originally and used sudo to install something (not sure if it was Composer, or something else?) and I got "Permission Denied" when runnning php flarum cache:clear so I used sudo php flarum cache:clear and now re are up and runnin!

Thanks for the help.

One more question:

I changed all me dependencies to * (except for Flarum), do I need to be wary of the consequences of that in the future, or is it reasonable to leave them all as they are now with "*"

cmwetherell Maybe you should assign Flarum folder and all file inside to the right user group not root.
Regarding the question of extension and asterisks (let's hear luceos) but I think it's ok, should be updated maybe if extension will updated.

I am running on Debian 4.19.152-1 (Bitnami LAMP AWS Lightsail)

cmwetherell I don't know in your case.
I'm using composer and a Centos VPS.

If I do something wrong like update or do something for error from the root user for fix I follow SSH instruction on how assign all files and the folder to my control panel normal user.

# chown user:user foldername

where user is replaced with my control panel username.

I don't wanna give suggestion that can create issues but if I'm not wrong having file and folders assigned to the wrong group can be a security risk. Maybe let's wait to hear what luceos think.
